With the thefts of old skool fords on the increase, i decided to up my security. There is a few things i have done,one of them is to modify my disklock to make it a little harder to remove and hopefully put the opportunist thief off and thought i would share on here incase anyone wanted to do the same. I have added some plates on the back to stop it being prised off and a van type lock on the front. doesnt cost a lot to do and i think its a worthwile mod.

as far as im aware you cant tax it unless you have a valid mot and insurance certificate

to me i dont care if its a replica or the real thing its the car that matters not what it says on the log book at the end of the day the name is just what ford called it. theres a lot of originals out there and a lot of replicas and due to the amount of money,time and care by the current owners some of the replicas today are far better than ford could have ever have produced from the factory.

the registered keeper on the log book is not necessarly the owner as the lod book is not proof of ownership.you can apply for a log book and they may send you one but dont assume you then own the car and can do with it what you want as it could be considered theft.you have to find out who owns the car (easier said than done),it may well be the registered owner but he may have sold it on and the log book has not been changed,someone must own it but tracking them down is the hard part.
