wrong the correct oil is 0w 30 Castrol SLX dont use a differnt grade or it sludges up. I think you can also use Castrol EDGE or Shell HELIX i just put up what it said in the book, but maybe its for older BMW's!

The specialized BMW oil is actually Q8 oil badged up as BMW's own so go on to the Q8 oil web site and find your local stockiest. The stuff you are after is "Q8 10W-40 Advanced Diesel" or if you so desire "Q8 5W-40 Excel" which is supposed to give you better performance and better fuel economy but is still a BMW special oil!

Looks like a marine one to me! Inboard diesel boat engine possibly for a Perkins, Lister or old Yanmar I would say!

Cheers guys I’m looking to get it ready for the road this year as it is and run it through the summer, by then I will hopefully be nearly finished my mk3 Cortina 2door restoration and i will then look to take it off the road and strip the vinyl off to sort out the blistering roof, full respray and revinyl along with any other bits and bobs that need doing to make it nice I may have to sell my mk3 Cortina 4door or Capri though as i'm running out of space and time to look after all of them now

Saturday I was working on the Cortina all day then went for a curry and beer Sunday I was tiling the bathroom floor and freezing my ass off every time I had to cut a tile because I had to go outside to use my wet tile cutter and it was snowing

What is the best coil over’s to get for my 2door mk3 Cortina with a 302 V8 engine in it, and I will be five linking a mustang 9" axle in to it too. Any recommendations on manufacturer and spring/shocker rating with the new engine and axle weight?

If i get it then my 4door mk3 Cortina will be going up for sale

I’m making a full front MK3 Cortina grill like that for a mate of mine but its going to have removable pannels over the lights for MOT time! He is recessing the lights back a bit so it sits over the top of them, all because he is building a mk3 Cortina General Lee replica for a bit of fun
