  1. Not all the ignition lives stay powered when the engine is cranking. I think this is to stop overloading stuff when the starter motor spins, or to make sure the starter has as much juice as possible. Certain items (normally includes the stereo) will turn on when you turn the ignition on but will cut out when the key is turned further to the start position, then come back on when the key springs back. I have a feeling that from the ignition barrel there's one wire that stays live when the engine's cranked and one that doesn't.
  2. I have 9x15 revolutions with 225 tyres on the back of my Capri with standard arches, they're got quite a deep dish and I needed a mk1 3l axle for them to fit. There's plenty of room though so with the right offset 9" would fit on a standard axle. Escort cossie wheels are 8x16, I've seen a couple of capri's with them and I'm 99.9% sure they more than fill out the standard arches without spacers, they do have quite a dish on them.
  3. Hurry up and get those miles done, I want to see this thing redline Is it still sounding 'tappety'? Rich.
  4. Thanks for the in-depth reply. Looks like a pro job to me from the pics & I'd be well pleased if my attempts turn out as good. I've not worked with fibreglass either, but I've got a lot of patience so that should help. The term 'glad-rap' does sound familiar but it's more commonly known as cling-film over here, might save explaining yourself all the time.
  5. Hi, loving the carbon work. Been thinking about giving it a go myself a wouldn't mind a few tips if you have time. When you had the ally/bog radiator surround did you just lay the carbon over the top, or create a mould from it to lay the carbon into? Cheers, Rich.
  6. Hi, just wondering how you get on with that battery. I hear they take more looking after than the standard type.
