  1. shouldn't there be slighty more resistence pushing it in? when i got my gmax shocks they always extended when pushed in
  2. how about in front of old boats on the beach, or a foresty location since rallying is what fords are best at kinda suits it i think.
  3. nice capri but imo a car is to drive and enjoy i think you should put some miles on that bad boy and have some fun in it!!
  4. i say go for it. ford engines have many downsides to other production cars. ie. cosworths are expensive to tune and buy, and what are they standard? 220 - 230bhp? now consider the 200sx, subaru, vauxhal xe, toyotas 4age, vw's 2.0ltr 20v turbo or vr6. I think if power is what your going for then the choices of engines is vast. I think the toyota supras 3.0 ltr twin turbo would be good in a capri. being supras are japans answer to the capri, get the best of both!!!
  5. dunno maybe rust issues? i think a vinyl roof on a new car would be a cool look! my first car mk1 fiesta 950cc popular was so basic it didn't even have a proper vinyl roof but had a black spray vinyl effect on it!!! and why does nobody build woodies any more?
  6. why does a modded car have to be titled? south london euro rat rod cal look bosozoku oem+ all the cars i've modded have been done to my style. This south london look, looks cool but it looks like the first mods you make on a car. or at least they have been for me. lower it and clean up all the messy bits! I guess you could say i'm doing the scrap yard look at the mo! rusty and messing bits
  7. go faster strips!!!!
  8. don't forget there not perishable. where rubber ones crack and get soggy poly bushes don't an essential upgrade
  9. quality. but how on earth do they discover they can do that?! is by accident? "oh i way riding along and accidently found myself riding on one wheel!!" or was it a way of trying to save tread!?
  10. nice one looks good lovin the AA badge!! gotta be kept
  11. the sad thing is most of those cars looked in better nick than my road car !!
  12. i'd say a period colour for the car probably attract more potenial buyers. failing that what about day glo orange!!
  13. hi yes there will be plenty of progress pics. i also have always wanted a mk1 xr2 but never was able to get one. this car i nearly bought 9 years ago for £100 more but it only needed that new wing at the time!! but as i was a lowly apperentice the insurence would have been a nightmare! its also my favorite colour for these. the weekend should see the engine and box out posably the interior i'll post pics in the projects section
  14. cheers mate i will do so. it's my first proper project car, as all my other cars I've needed to use as daily drivers so they only got jobs that could be done in a weekend! my plan is to make subtle mods probably lower it an inch i've got a full 90 spec recaro interior so the inside will all match not just the front seats. the look i'm gonna go for once the essentual work has been done is make you think its standard at first glance but then you start to notice all the little mods.
  15. more pics of the car. i'm getting loads of spares with this car which is great. from what i've seen looking around it it needs a new front n/s wing, a patch on both innner wings, a new o/s door, both front floor pan sections, posibly sills on o/s, a new section for the boot lock on the car (have a piece cut out from another one) abit under the battery, aabit under the rear washer bottle, around the sunroof (posibly gonna be the hardest bit!) the roof sorting oh and getting the engine running! what do you reckon one weekend! pos two?!
  16. this is what will be my ride next weeekend! [/img]

  19. ok cool cheers
  20. hey cheers guys i will start a thread on the progress not getting it untill near the end of feb but getting loads of the spares he has in the mean time.
  21. hi all i'm getting my xr2 soon and one of the probs with it is the previous owner used T-cut on the roof to the point that he has removed all of the laquer. My question is can i just respray over it with laquer again and get a decent result? the car is in the blue colour
  22. talking of the shear cheek of some people reminds me of a story i heard. some bloke had a fridge and put it at the end of his driveway with a board saying "free to good home" or similar and for about a week or so not a single interest in it. so he changed the sign to... "£10 knock at door" the next day it was stolen!!!!
  23. that is a fantastic race i bet they had soo much fun, And murrey walker talking, now thats how motorsport should be!
  24. cheers for all the replys you'll probably hear alot more of me when i get my mk1 xr2 as it needs plenty of work. Seems like a great friendly forum if anyone is interested the work i've gotta do on the car is replace the nsf wing patch up a hole on the osf inner wing replace both front floor pans probably both door skins posibly the sills put in new metal on the boot lock area and do something with rust around the sunroof, a respray and check over the engine! what have got myself into?!!!
  25. hi guys and girls i'm chris from the sunny isle of wight and i have registered on here because of my latest purchase. a mk 1 fiesta xr2 and it is abit of a dog so i intend to do plenty of work on it, subject to time and money! i also have a mk2 xr2 which also needs some attention no pics this time but as soon as i get my mk1 xr2 i'll take pics. my other cars are an escort van, a mundaneo (the family car!) and finally a mk2 toyota celica supra which doesn't run and got broken into, and now due to the latest purchase it will have to go. chris
