hi there does anyone know where i can get new standard sized end float bearing shells for a 2.0 l pinto have tried some from ford for a transit but they are different and ford no longer list the part number i have which is 70hm 6k302 a2a ... the engine is out of a 74 cortina ... cheers guys !

First of all thanks to all at osf for a top weekend !! on the down side ... a bad connection in my fuse box melted the fuse to my leccy fan and cosequently massivley over heated !! any one else out ther have much trouble ??

argh ... thats a proper nightmare ... fingers crossed for ya ! fitted a fan on mine yesterday and looks like its not quite up to the job !! , think i might be sat at the side of the road at some point 2moz

the only completely legal way is to get it trailered , tho i myself have driven to the station without an m.o.t. and never had trouble ... but think at the end of the day its mostly down to how good a mood old plods in , and if they did decide to do you then i think they would be being a bit harsh ! .... but thats the law for you !!

Just in case anyone else reads this .... you are allowed to drive to an m.o.t station without an m.o.t BUT this does not make you exempt from the law ie it is at your discresion !! if you are stopped by the old bill and found to have a defect on your vehicle you can be prosected for it . As for tax obviously you need an m.o.t to get it in the first place ... only way around that is to borrow some trade plates ... hope thats of help

if your rad cap isnt holding pressure , they usually leak . if your water pumps gone you will find your rad never gets overly hot . as for your head gasket a good test is to take it to a garage and get them to stick the exhaust gas anyliser probe in the top of the rad ... if it picks up any hydro carbons from the unburnt fuel then your head gaskets on the way out good luck with it

what engine you have fitted bares no relevance mate ! the m.o.t. test is there to make sure that the vehicle is roadworthy , as long as its not hanging out and the emissions are in check then there should be no problem !
