  1. Mines been on for about 4 years now, no problems. mount the fan on top of the removed rad so there is no presure on the fins whilst you're fixing it on but get a spare set as they have to be cut off if you need to replace the rad at any time.
  2. Cheers Bortaf If I work it out using tipex and turn the crank I should be able to work out the gearing using the info on the link
  3. Bought it s/hand about 4/5 years ago
  4. it's a type 9 with straight cut quaife internals, which I bought a few years back and I can't remember the ratios
  5. Does anyone know how to work out the ratio in a gearbox. Is it a case of jacking up the back end putting into each gear, rotating the crank 1 full turn & seeing how many times the prop goes round or is there another way of doing it.
  6. Cheers mate
  7. Anyone?
  8. put them on & take it for a spin
  9. I run 205/60 on the rear & 185/60 up front no problems.
  10. does anyone know what gasket this is? it is stamped with ford part No: 77BM9441DB. I'm having a tidy up and i'm coming across some stuff i'd forgotten about and other stuff that i've no idea what they fit.
  11. He's right by changing the wheel size you could find yourself back in the same position or too far the other way, try one mod at a time and see what you prefer.
  12. I can agree there, i've got a Quaiffe box and a 4.4 diff and it's a nightmare on a long run (good fun though). Mine would be screaming it's nuts off to get to 70 in 2nd, Try a power run on a rolling road that'll give you mph & rpm
  13. A lot of people say to me that drag racing is easy as it's just in a straight line over a short distance, But it happens, as you are putting down a lot of power (especially in Micks case) and if I pull off in a straight line i'm happy, there has been times when i've seen the barrier then the other car then the barrier again and you're thinking should I ease off the pedal or will it straighten itself. then you change gear just as you're going over a bit of spilt oil or water and it happens again. or something seizes or breaks and god knows what can happen. imagine if your prop snaps or twists out of the gearbox and your car is catapulted into the air. Glad he's OK and remember guys it can happen to any of us, and the more power you've got the bigger the crash.

  19. Maybe we can start up a scruffy, jalopy OSF meet
  20. Hi, At long last I thought I'd join up I own a 100E Prefect with a 2.1 pinto, had it for years, it's a bit scruffy but i like it like that. It's due a rolling road set-up as it's running a bit rough at the moment. Hope to meet some of you like minded guys at some of the events during the year
