Hi everyone,
I've never been able to make it to an Old Skool Foord meet at the Ace Cafe, but am available for tomorrow's one. Unfortunately, i'm on crutches, so was wondering whether it's worth negotiating the rush hour on the tube to get there. What sort of turn out is likely? Many Mk1 Cortinas?!
I just plan to tidy it up, really. Nothing spectacular - I like it how it is! I have been thinking about a possible engine transplant, but that would most probably mean losing the column gearshift, which I like!
I wasn't too sure about the column shift to start with, but now I have got used to it I love it's quirky-ness. It's staying! I picked up some nice bits from the Cortina show too and managed to fit them all today. As soon as I have amassed enough posts, i will post some pics!
Thanks everyone. We're rolling now! MOT'd, taxed and insured. Just got to get used to the column shift now! I also need to get to people staring and pointing at me (in a nice way, of course!)
Hi,
I picked up a white MK1 Cortina 1500 Deluxe (4-door) at the weekend. Reg no is WSU 226 and have found it on previous threads (search 'Hey Folks... new forum member with a tatty '63 'tina' and 'Mk1 Cortina Lowering Springs'.
To be honest, it hasn't changed much. I'm hoping to go up to the Cortina rally at the weekend and pick up some bits to make a start on tidying it up.
Neil
