hmmmm.....opinions on this blatantcy?
RS2000CUSTOM replied to zetecmk2's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
As I OWN Rallye Sport Escorts website I can assure you all that NO V5 sales are allowed If someone posts a link to an Ebay thread then it is EBAY that is allowing the advert NOT ME ! As most EBAY adverts are "thinly veiled" V5 sales and you too have allowed such a link to be posted within this thread then where is the difference ? I allow free speech and freedom of expression on my website and as such - 1 mans log book is another mans stolen ID - but I will not allow the trading of such item to be placed as a classified ad on my site Hope this clarifies the situation -
Am up for this again please
-
Alsdad thank for your understanding (but of course not agreeing) and I respect that, also to OSF admin for your "patience" on this thread. Many people will have their own opinions on many things and Werthers will continue to generate opinions amongst the Escort world. Alsdad I hope to catch up at a show in 2012 you will not miss me I am the strange looking man who takes his ball home when I am not getting my own way

The car it's build and any threads etc have NOT been removed only the word Werthers does not display As for my age I am 46 and as very little is ever treated in such a way on my site this shows how deep feelings run regarding Werthers
-
Yep I call it Werthers as that is what it is known as Unfortunately the name Werthers on my site is not as appreciated as elsewhere Please do not think I am the sole person this concerns but I doubt others will voice their issues as it simply isn't worth the arguments that will ensue
-
No thanks as I do not wish to discuss on this or any other website how I run my own website ? I have my reasons and Werthers is clearly welcome here so let's leave it at that
-
After the bad feelings this car caused during and after its rebuild I can assure you that jealousy is the least reason I made the name Werthers disappear from my site. It is nothing personal what so ever between myself and the current owner and hope he enjoys owning the car.

What a great day and the weather just added to the day Yet another excuse to get the car out and drive it amongst a load of similar Old Skool Fools !

Unless you have the tools to correctly set the pre-load and backlash I would advise against DIY (not impossible to do but is near impossible to set correctly) PRE-LOAD BACKLASH

I have a road tax bill here for my 1979 MKII RS2000 for £190.00 So if it is scrapped altogether I have lost nothing in trying to get the threshold moved back to 25 year old With a general election looming now is the time to ask the main parties questions as they will be after any votes possible -
OK its not a clear Yes or No ! But who expected I would even get a reply ? ***************************************************** Dear Mr O’Neill, I am writing on behalf of David Cameron to thank you for your e-mail. Under the previous Conservative administration, we introduced a rolling measure so that historic vehicles would be exempt from paying vehicle excise duty (the tax disc) if they were more than 25 years old. This was designed to help protect the history and heritage our motoring and transport heritage. However, in 1997, the current Labour Government froze the rolling aspect of this exemption; introducing a fixed cut off date instead. This meant that owners of any vehicle constructed after 1 January 1973 would have to pay vehicle excise duty if they were not declared to be off the road (SORN). We fully understand your concern with this issue. Under the current arrangements there is a real danger that the tax on vehicles registered after 1973 may become too expensive for enthusiasts to afford. This is particularly an issue when an enthusiast has a collection of several vehicles. Many owners may only tax them for a few months in summer or even take them off the road indefinitely. The current system limits the opportunities of seeing these vehicles on the road and the additional costs could prove so burdensome that they threaten jobs in the restoration sector. We believe that examples of our rich motoring history should be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations to come. As we move further away from the 1973 cut off date, the argument gets stronger and stronger to revise the current system. Obviously, in the current financial climate, any change could only be taken after careful consideration of the fiscal impact. Yours sincerely, Nicola Sheldon David Cameron’s Correspondence Unit Conservative Campaign Headquarters
