What I thought was going to be a nice run in the sun tonight out to Kirklees Light Railway "Whistle Stop Cafe" turned out to be a step back in time. I packed a few snacks and a flask (well I am a Yorkshire man) but didn't think to put in the Thompson submachine gun 🤔 When I got to the meet, I found out that I was time warped back to the twentys (1920s). I wasn't at a car meet but in a gangsters lair. My fellow longroof (Whitey) and Vista Estate were to ride shot gun with Al Capuchino in his Studerbaker. The target was the cafes prized millionaire shortbread. We hit the counter together, surprise was our plan, only to be told there was a queue and we needed to join it. Al and Whitey put up a fight but a tea towel under the chin put them down. Vista Estate went in for a snatch and grab but came up plain shortbread. (No chocolate or toffee) After licking our wounds and the shortbread we finally got our hands on the stash. We made off quick, but got caught by contactless. Damn machines! Back in the 2020's we decided a life of crime was too much like hard work but we did get our just deserts 😋😋. Great night meet was had by all.

Locke Park, Barnsley proved to be a success again this Year. The Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club put on a great show as usual. Turn out was helped by the better weather (well the sun always shines on the righteous!). Plenty of Fords setting the standard as usual 🤣. Vista Estate was in element and he managed to raise money of HWD Hospital Radio too. https://www.hwdhospitalradio.com/ Just as we thought it couldn't get any better, some of Vista Estate's long lost cousins turned up. When did you last see 3 Escort Mk1/Mk2 Estates in the same place. Never. Bring back the LongRoof Club 😁
