  1. Locke Park, Barnsley proved to be a success again this Year. The Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club put on a great show as usual. Turn out was helped by the better weather (well the sun always shines on the righteous!). Plenty of Fords setting the standard as usual 🤣. Vista Estate was in element and he managed to raise money of HWD Hospital Radio too. https://www.hwdhospitalradio.com/ Just as we thought it couldn't get any better, some of Vista Estate's long lost cousins turned up. When did you last see 3 Escort Mk1/Mk2 Estates in the same place. Never. Bring back the LongRoof Club 😁
  2. Hi Guys, A year or two ago I bought a mk1 shell for restoration. Its a 2 door shell, structurally solid but needs lots of bodywork done, we bought all the panels we needed at the time: from memory we had the floor, both outer wings, light holders, floor rails, mexico front panel, radiator support panel, A post repair panel. It also has fibreglass bubble arches, has been fully tubbed, and has a roll-cage. It comes with a rear atlas axle (or maybe an english axle) with a 4 link-kit, and an original race 7-11M 1.3L engine to go with it. The car is tax exempt and comes with a log book. Anyone interested in buying it? Seems a shame to waste it as I have been storing it for almost 2 years now and haven't managed to get around to working on it. Let me know what people would offer for it or how much genuine interest people would have, thanks very much James
  3. Bought years ago but never got around to fitting it, and is now sitting in garage collecting dust. I'm not entirely sure what it's out of, could be either RS2000, Mexico, 1600XL etc. Original panel and saves you having to hack a standard 2 dial job to fit the 6 dial dash. £150 Collection from Iver, South Bucks (SL0). PM me for details.
  4. Hiya... I drive a Mk3 Cortina (1971) which I've owned since 2001, and also have a Mk1 Transit van (1968) which has been with the restorers for the last 4 years (not getting restored very quickly, obviously). I've also just bought a Mk1 Escort because I miss having one - the family just didn't feel complete! She does need a bit of TLC to get her on the road though, and I'm hoping to get some advice on here. Like, if I want to fit a 5-speed box, does it need to be a Type 9 (like the one that's in my Cortina), or is there a better solution? I was really interested to read the thread on rear window rubbers - I too have a leaky rear window! :D..... :/ ...and now I know what to do! I've also joined in the hope of actually meeting some other Ford nuts in my local(ish) area. It would be great to meet up for a drink and a chat sometimes, not just at the shows. The winter is so boring... So please talk to me - I'm a bit mad but quite nice. Lizzy
