Approx 1100 made , most where peasant spec ( no carpets etc ) and went into rallying were they hit trees etc and died !!!!!!!! :shock: A small amount were used as road cars and these are normally the "genuine" ones and not just old log books on built up mexicos !!!!! :wink:

a small tuning company did a handfull of escorts with 3l essex's in them a bit like the savage really there was one in cf years ago they were white with a small red stripe

rs1600 were the daddy version on the mexico,they were 1600 16v with 120hp,as with all rs mk1 there were loads of extra you could get from your friendly rs dealer,like bubble arches,roll bar etc

The Apache was the Uren built 3.0 Escort, the savage was a Cortina :thumbsup:

the Escort Perana was a 2.0 OHC :)

Superspeed conversions where by Younges of Ilford i think

not heard of taunus before ? (except as the european name for the cortina)
