Cleaning up the slam panel , thought , ooh , i need the paint code ..... WTF ! no chassis plate

 

How the fook did i not notice that for the last 14 months

 

Anyone got any ideas what to do now ...mmm

how did it pass its mot with no tag either

Does it have to have one for the MOT test then ...? They must have got the chassis number etc from the old MOT......

It will pass the MoT without one, they normally ask to see an old certificate. The frame number on my scooter has gone rusty and isn't really legible, I had to go home and get some old Mot's so they could get it right.

 

Iain, there is normally another plate alongside the VIN, is the paint code on that one???

unfortunately it isn"t m8....looks like petrol cap cover off and a load of paint charts to look at

A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN or chassis number) is required on all vehicles first used on or after 1 August 1980. except those which are

. kit cars

. amateur built vehicles

If a VIN cannot be found the vehicle presenter should be advised of the likely location of the VIN and to thoroughly search for the number with the aid of the registration document. If following this action the VIN cannot be found the vehicle presenter should contact the nearest Vehicle Registration Office.

If more than one different VIN is found, the vehicle presenter should contact the nearest Vehicle Registration Office.
