oldskool100e Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 ...when thing are going well, and suddenly go pear shaped I decided that today I would get the Anglia out and have a look at the brakes, as the pedal was very spongy. I'd got a master cylinder kit off ebay, although I wasn't sure if it was the right one, not being certain what cylinder was fitted. so I got it up on stands, wheels off, drums off, shoes and cylinders are fine, so are the pads. In the meantime I've drained the oil, filter I've got is the right one (again not sure, another ebay purchase...) Decide to give the wheels a quick coat of paint, only got matt black acording to the lid, really wanted gloss but never mind. spray wheels and the paint turns out to be gloss...great. Get the master cylinder off and strip it, kit is the right one... refit cylinder, start at N/S/R wheel to bleed brakes, nipple comes undone OK, no fluid coming through. OK, I'll bleed the master cylinder first... tighten bleed screw... CRACK... the piece with the bleed nipple in breaks away from the cylinder... OK, it's not the end of the world... but I wanted to use the car tomorrow
