Spent the afternoon poking holes in my 4 dr mk1 'tina and have come to the conclusion it would be easier to send the shell off to be blasted/dipped.

Any one method better than the other? Is there anywhere in/around london that do it?

Pulled out the headlining and found this, the second pick shows the n/s innerwing which is a bit rough.

its all very expensive for average joe like me

strip it down by hand to bare metal and cut out everything rotten then weld :-D

takes 14 months exactly but much cheaper :-D

chemical dip looks great though if you have that kinda cash, id imagine sand blasting cuts through thinner metal

That looks great Twinkle, great to see the pics.

Got a quote from SPL in Dudley , £695 to have it dipped, £370 to have it etched primered after and £775 for it to be e-coated if you wanted it done, would be handy if i could find a place a bit closer to home though :)

enquired about having mine blasted....

nearly fainted when CBC told me how much!

£400 just for the engine bay and a small part of the boot! then extra to put it into primer!

when my projects done you can start bringing your cars to me.

id spend a few days doing it by hand for you for cheaper than that.
