PAUL MANN Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 have you removed the u shaped washer may just need a tap just proberly jammed ,wd40 & hammer
Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 m8 these do have a tendancy to rust together and can be a right bugger to remove, try soaking um in plus gas or wd40 for a while! a hammering with a soft faced hammer may help! You could try undoing the spring clamps as the pressure from the spring may help push the top mount off Hope this helps m8 Good luck!
payne'e Posted April 22, 2007 Author Report Posted April 22, 2007 cheers yeah removed the washer. looks like it's time to get aggressive
Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 just dont muller the top of the strut!! You could always take the insert out! Theres a nut on the bottom of the insert casing undo that and pull the insert out leaving the top mount on the strut!
alladdin Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 you cant just undo the nut and pull the insert out, the insert is also threaded into bottom of strut so has to be screwed out. personaly i would whack it off (within reason !), top mnts are pretty robust.
payne'e Posted April 22, 2007 Author Report Posted April 22, 2007 all sorted now guys left the top 3 bolts on, undid the middle and tapped it down gently and came out a peice of piss. here are a couple of pics before after
