alright peeps. i've got some lowering springs for my mk1 escy. how do you take the top of the strut off? capri 2.8 billies.i've undone the bolt and fitted spring clamps but the top won't budge :twisted: can anyone help :thumbsup:

m8 these do have a tendancy to rust together and can be a right bugger to remove, try soaking um in plus gas or wd40 for a while! a hammering with a soft faced hammer may help!

 

You could try undoing the spring clamps as the pressure from the spring may help push the top mount off :wink:

just dont muller the top of the strut!!

 

You could always take the insert out!

 

Theres a nut on the bottom of the insert casing undo that and pull the insert out leaving the top mount on the strut! :wink:

all sorted now guys :D left the top 3 bolts on, undid the middle and tapped it down gently and came out a peice of piss. here are a couple of pics
