well for some reason i was on a go slow just pottering along at 50

decided to pop into halfords......as i jump out one of the halfords spanner monkeys approaches me and starts chatting about the car saying how coll it looked so i showed him my excuse of an engine and told him all about its race pedigree.....he was well impressed  and his mate has a white one

then i pop down the tip with some scraps of carpet before i get chance to ask where to put them 'thats in good nick mate' i was waiting for 'we dont take cars here'

anyway in halfords i bought one of those thingys to get valves out the head.....so i can port/polish it 8)

the manifold is the easy bit, the head is harder, its made of steel and the port has quite a steep bend in it so it takes ages to improve the flow, it took me 2 days to get the angles right when I did it on work experience, then I had to do another one!

got a webber sitting on the shelf still gonna have to have another go with that me thinks

the fiesta boys say porting the manifold doesnt give noticable gains but upgrading to a webber carb will

also bidding on a timing gun on ebay so i dont have to pester the likes of Ron Harris todo my timing in the pits

also got some suspension compressor thingys on the way so i can put a decent set of shockers on the front or even some XR ones try cut down on the front lifting and spinning, also toying with the idea of those rubber bung things for caravaning if i stick some on the top of my rear springs to jack the rear up and keep the weight over the fronts for grip.....will this work
