perry Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 you can do without a shop full of people at 9.30 am and having to answer the phone to hear your distributor has recieved a letter from a lady that is taking me to court the lady in question had been in a few times with the usual " my sons bike has a punture " fine , youve just bought the bike , ill change the tube for nothing out of good will and even the second time when she tells me her son hit a kerb , resulting in a minor flat spot on the rim , nothing to risk the strength of the wheel or even put it out of true , but i advised her accordingly she was quite dissapointed in the bike at this point and was going to write to the manufacturer saying she wasnt quite as happy as larry and i said fine , itl mean they know their stuff isnt quite upto par i didnt realise she would send them quite a rude letter ! and when my distributor phoned her back only then did she mention her son was hurt in the wheel/kerb interface remember i only heard this while the shop was busy and i could bearly hear the doris on the phone im technically the manager but it doesnt help when the owner has just gone on holiday to malta , im just not trained to deal with these " where theres a blame theres a claim "numpties ! im a firm believer in taking your own morality in your own hands , i shouldnt be responsible for some lads lack of sodding ballance on a bike i had to say ill phone the distributor back as the people stood waiting listening to me on the phone " ahhhh shit , im fooked " were getting inpatient a quick call to my associate in another shop put my mind to rest with his blase attitude to my situation ( i was shaking at the thought of a court appearance ) luckilly ive got a good lawyer i just hope the lady turns up at some point so i can talk it over with her as even though bikes are sold under the term " mountain bike " and whatnot they arnt warranted for any kind of missuse and if the bike had been crashed ( it had , my 12 years of experience and the fack she told me he hit a kerb tells me he had an off ) so a few tabs smoked later i thought id phone mumsy for a chat , i live a 5 hour drive away from mumsy and i havnt seen her in over a year and yes youve guessed it i dont phone her as ofter as i should with the plus point me being slightly less stressed and slightly upbeat i asked the question ive managed to avoid even though it has been at the back of my mind over 2 years how is my ex ? your probably wondering " why ask mumsy how your ex is ? " well mine and her mums work togetther , so she often pops in to see her you see we didnt split up on good terms , we had reached the point where neither of us were entirely happy anymore so it ended , what hangs in the back of my mind as a constant reminder is the way it ended i wont go into it but another girl was involved and its a decision i regret to this very day , not the spliting up as such as it was inevitable its just that ive never had a chance to say sorry as ive never seen her since so the question was finally asked and the response was " do you really want to know " well yes , how can you say that and me to suddenly say nah i dont want to know now im sure theres a word for that strange emotion of utter sadness mixed with an element of regret and an overall happiness that she is still happy with the fella she met after we ended and is doing well in her job so from that point i had a tear in the eye and a smile on my face and an overwhelming desire do do fook all the rest of the day which i managed amicablly i think so after racing a few cars home ( gotta love town traffic ) and you cant beat that look on the poor fookers face , yes ive just left you for dead on a bike time for a pint or 2 or thats what i had in mind untill the jobsworth behind the bar asked me for id ( which i didnt have on me ! ) im 22 for fooks sake oh well at least our local let us in i hope i dont get anymore shit tommorow i havnt had a chance to read any other posts at the moment but i hope no one else had a day as gash as mine
jay Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 wow bud, quite a day then......... have a drink on me.......

Gibson Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 people like that make me want too drown puppies... or people...
mk2_boy Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 hugs r beautiful things, u should def get one!! at 22 u should def relieve the stress it's too much for the young mind to cope with, watch some porn and down a beer to sort it out, then if need be. W*** well, that always helps me anyway... the womans obviously demented and trying to pull a fast 1!
perry Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 a few people have told me shes trying to get something for nowt ive just gotta try and word my conversation with her carefully i have to basically tell her " your son cant ride a bike for sh*t " but without her getting irrate
mk2_boy Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 yes. thats right, if all else fails show her your willy! and tell her to get the hell out your shop or you will ring the police and reprt her for harrassment! it works when women do it now its your turn to get even man!
bashmk1 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 thats what shes doing perry, we have a few customers like that. we even had one accuse us of pouring acid all over is rear spoiler, nothing around it was touched, just the spoiler. and all becuase the paint had started to flake. they just want something for nothing. and unfortunatly when, or if, they come back there bill gets a whole lot dearer!
perry Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 cheers , your making me feel at ease probably shouldnt whip old old man out though but some of those yummy mummies i hope i can push the " once it leaves the shop im not liable " kinda like an mot is worthless as as soon as you drive away you could put your car into a hedge and tweak the front end , the car could be dangerous if the police sees it , but i doubt the mot tester would be liable for that but sadly these people exist , its amazing how many people cant grasp the idea that a cable can stretch
mk2_boy Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 the willy thing was just to make ya smile geeze... i used to work in halshite and there were lots of them annoying tossers that came in. they complained about allsorts like selling defective headlight bulbs, and when we pointed out they bought them 12months previous they said "they should last longer than that blah blah blah"
Gibson Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 i work at halfords i have too deal with these turds all day long... my personal favorite is when u show them how horrendously wrong they are and they just walk off in a huff
perry Posted October 5, 2006 Author Report Posted October 5, 2006 good news i phoned my mate jodie who manages the lincoln shop " alright mate ( hes from manchester i think so our conversation was very funny try and picture it with that accent ) you gone to court yet ? " erm " yall aright mate i phoned the distributors and they gave me her number so i phoned er saying why you taking my shop to court ? " oh the relief i felt when he told me that she had intended to take the distributors to court not me " i told her to come over here or stop wasting my fookin time ! " he also told me that a bike got sent off under a waranty claim and because the seat was at an angle it was void " were on a win win mate " sadly no yummy mummies today though but i did have to speak to a lady with scary eyes and a goatie
Trevmk3 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 i wont go into it but another girl was involved so you caught her in bed with another women the bloke i work with had a shit day yesterday, he had a large part off a machine that we were building roll over onto his thumb, blood everywhere, nearly severed the end off, so he was rushed to hospital where he had sugery to fix it, so now hes got a shorter thumb. he'll learn not to do the fooker again though

perry Posted October 5, 2006 Author Report Posted October 5, 2006 funny tho u never get any real hunnies in bike shops! only nutters. mummies are the closest u'll get!! its suprising how many girls ride bikes , its even better having to ask for their phone number ( to put in the book of course ) that lady with the goatie has a look that looks through you and she insists on telling me how poor she is , i dont care
