Smudger105e Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I am waiting for some bits for the 'new' Anglebox (the one in my sig), rad hoses, heater hoses, exhaust tail strap, door spring, got to source an ignition switch and fit the wiper switch my gorgeous wife sourced over the weekend. Has a red Post Office note through the door today, so I hope it's the important bits. I'll see tomorrow. Once I have done that (bearing in mind I'm away from Thursday until Sunday) I have to get her booked in for an MOT (the car not the wife) and hope she passes. Then I've got to get her taxed, but as she has not been on the road since 1998, is not registered as a historic vehicle, so it's a trip to the local DVLA as well. Now, if I can get it done in time, we (myself and Mummy Burns) will bring it to round 2, Burns will bring his Fezza and we may join a convoy on the way. I am not going to take the car up the strip though, as it is a bog standard 997! Fingers crossed that I can get all the work done in time...
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Mine are crossed mate (fingers that is) You will be alright. I got mine last year after it had been in hibernation for 20 years. Just gave it a service and she sailed though the dreaded MoT... you should have no worries. Best of luck
Smudger105e Posted May 10, 2007 Author Report Posted May 10, 2007 The only rust is on the training edge of the front wings, which is not MOTable, and that will be sorted towards the end of the season when she will be getting a bare metal respray, and a small bit on the inner wings, just on the front of the turret, which is the bit that worries me. I always worry about steering joints too. I think I will have to put radials on too, coz I remember trying to drive one years ago on crossplys, nightmare!!
Smudger105e Posted May 10, 2007 Author Report Posted May 10, 2007 Damn, they sent me two short heater hoses!! E-mailed John and he should get them to me for Monday I hope...
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 You don't need a heater!! Good luck with it
