...that my Escort is about half an inch shorter on one side than it is on the other

I only noticed when I came to put my new rear valance on and couldnt get the sod to line up properly........ and no wonder I cant get the passsenger doors lined up

Strange thing is theres no real signs of any impact except a slightly bent rear bumper - so is this crap Ford build quality or has my car been in a prang ?

Why does nothing ever go smoothly :banghead:

Usually tired springs [if its lower on the offside] due to that side always getting the weight of the driver.

Land Rover actually had slightly more cambered springs on the offside for this very reason.

Its the shell.....I was having similar thoughts it drove straight & true before I took it off the road.

It's just annoying that I'm gonna have to do a fair bit of fettling to get the rear end looking like it should

theres prob a buckle in your bodywork hidden with filler sumwhere

The rear door sits proud of the front door - the alignment at the top is fine but the gaps narrow towards the bottom..........The gap between the wing and the front door is narrower on the passenger side too. I've baremetalled the passenger side and the whole roof, the front and the rear and the only panel with any filler on was the rear panel and front vallance.

ps its half inch not whole inch lol
