Fitting harnesses... help please :)

I need my harnesses fitting but I only have a show cage not a roll cage so they need to be bolted to the floor... however, i need a metal plate welding to the car so there is a certain thickness for the bolts to go through preventing them ripping out in a crash...

 

Does anyone know the thickness that i need?

you can get the plates with nuts ready welded on from rd or peter lloyd's

I would of thought 1/4 inch would be plenty

demon tweeks,RACE rally design do a little metal square with a nut welded on so u can weld it stright to your shell and away you go

 

lookin in the pic in the burton cat it looks about 6mm
