V8ian Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Just to put a damper on the CF show for those of you traveling up on Sunday from London, THE M1 WILL BE SHUT ALL SATURDAY NIGHT TILL 9AM SUNDAY MORNING due to bridge destruction, J8 to J9, http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/13278.aspx There are lots of alternative routes, so if you intend on getting there early Sunday, better get the TomTom out or check Multimap to find another route, Dont forget there are also Average speed restrictions from just north of London Gateway service station up to Watford, and Hemel To Dunstable, [if that bit is open] the AVERAGE speed limit is 50mph, and the cameras are all active on both sections Ian
X-pack-Glyn Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 a good route i use, bit of a detour but not much traffic is off M25 at junc 20 just before M1, then take a left take that road to hemel hemstead, follow signs for leighton buzzard then A5, then take the toddington turn, this will bring you out just past all the roadworks and speed restrictions at junc 12, two more junctions and its turn off at 14 allong the 509 motorways diversions comes in effect 8pm not 9 as shown, till 9am sunday morning. also note new speed limit of 50 instead of 40 now, allthough it may have been put back for works im meeting quite a few friends just off junc 12 on saturday at around 4pm for the final 1 hour leg of the journey, any interest in a small 20 car convoy PM me.
Noodles Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Should get there well before then, gonna meet pelvins in Dartford at about 2.30ish if anyone is also interested
bozie Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 nice one for the news update ill get the tom tom out
Mr Sam Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 doesnt effect me but ill bump it back up so those that it might effect see it
105Speed Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 There is a diversion in place that will take you off the M1 at Junction 8 and back on at Juntion 9 via the industrial estate in Hemel and over to Redbourne. Shouldnt be too much of a drama Go up the A1 to the Black Cat roundabout and then in on the new Bedford Bypass and up to pod on the A6 Alternatively come off the M25 on the A41 and head round the back end of Hemel up towards Aylesbury, come off at Tring and head towards Dunstable. OR Go through St Albans, up through Harpenden and on to Luton and the either back on the M1 or all the way to the Pod on the A6
