I am currently running a 1600 cross flow that revs to about 6200 with a type e 4speed and a 4.1 diff I have just done my first race and struggled on the straights I have a 3.54 diff in the garage so was going to change them over. What sort of difference would I see from a 4.1 to a 3.54. I know I will lose acceleration and gain top end but how much will it be 2mph or 20mph cheers all

I want to remove my LSD from my 4.1 and fit it into a 3.54 diff I have. the question is how easy is it to do is it just a case of un bolting and the bolting into the new diff or do I need to get someone who knows what there doing.

yeah plate type LSD. i would just like someone who knows what there talking about to have a look at it and tell me if there is an issue or if the problem is some where else

i was using my escort the other week and there was a loud clunking sound coming from the rear. i had a look but could not identify anything wrong sound like its from the axle so i removed the prop, diff and driveshaft but cant see anything obvious. the noise only starts at about 30 mph. could anyone recommend someone in the Romford, Dagenham area that they would trust to take a look at it. any suggestions as to what could be making the noise thanks in advance

I am installing a Milton A frame to my escort and it requires 2 brackets to be welded to the axel. My question is can I weld to a complete axel or do I need to remove half shafts, diff and oil Cheers

I have a type 9 gearbox I just removed from my MK2 escort in great working condition has so problems. Only removed as I am racing my escort this year and club regulations means it's back to the 4 speed. There is no bell housing as I am using on my 4speed. £200 Quick shift gear leaver £25 Cheers

Hi all been out of the old skool scene for a year or so escort been in garage in bits for to long. Anyway I have just got hold of a genuine ford x pack body kit never fitted in great condition been stored in someone's loft for 20 odd years. The question I have is should I fit it to my car or should I sell. If I decide to fit it how much work is involved. If I want to sell what's it worth and how rare are they. Thanks for any replays.

Yeah I'm a member of borough 19 there a great bunch or people very helpful. I was planning to try entering as many as I could this year but my race suit and crash helmet and gloves have all expired and I don't have a spare £500-600 to replace them at min was going to offer to help with setting up on the north weild event next month. I have only entered a couple of events at debden loads of fun. If anyone has a suit that thats still in date and don't want silly money for let me no. Hopefully see you there Aardvark101.

I wish I dipped mine I did a bare metal restore with paint stripper and sandpaper it was weeks of work and it did the job but within 3 years I had signs of rust coming through. But I never had £2500 for dipping. So if you got the budget I would go for it.

A friend of a friend is building a Capri and is going to be running a 1600 pinto is this a good engine choice as most OSF run xflow or 2.0 pinto. I don't no much about the 1600 pinto but I assume they are a bit heavier than the xflow just like the 2.0l ?

i have got some pics of the centre console but i cant get them on here its saying files are to big and i dont no what to do. if you have an email address or phone number pm me and ill send them that way. the console is black with the square clock in it its in fairly good condition theres a small rip in the gearstick gator i have a pic. at the back the metal frame is a little rusty but you cant see it. it still has the clock in it. looking for £40 +postage but i see you live in london im in dagenham and work in london so could meet you. i also have a head unit surround that came out of my mk escort it fixes to the bottom of the dash i can send pics cheers
