DeuceCoupe Posted October 12, 2006 Author Report Posted October 12, 2006 get a pinto AND xflow. then sell the xflow to me you can have the 1300
Mr Sam Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 1600 pinto..........ive had no experience with the others
Dom Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Xflow although to be fair it doesn't matter really, just as long as the engine is a screamer. Mk2 cortinas are pretty light cars and the look of one going sideways screaming is enough to put a smile on anyones face. xflow would probably be cheaper too
deluxe Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 a pinto alone can be very cheap. Its all the alloy bits you have to bolt on to it and the propshaft that makes it expensive. (Sump-pan, engine mounts, bellhousing). And all the hassle with rerouting the exhaust, moving the gear lever hole and gear box x-member. So here in Norway fitting a standard pinto in an escort set us back around £1000, where about £100 of it is for the engine and gearbox Buying a standard 1600 x-flow and tune it to the same 100hp costs more or less the same
whitey Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 cross flows cause pintos are too heavy,
DeuceCoupe Posted October 12, 2006 Author Report Posted October 12, 2006 Seeing as you are female you will probably be better off finding yourself a 1100 and why is that then why cant us females go fast ill beat you down the strip I love a challenge. get yourself a nice crossflow and we'll see. Just one question one what times do you do down the strip or does anyone know please so I can get my mechanic onto it
