door locks

im stripping my old nissan before it goes to the scrapman

dya reckon i could remove all the locks and use them on my escort

 

i just wondered if all lock mechanisms were the same

 

im not paying a fortune for some escort locks thats for sure

just guessing here but i reckon different manufacturers locking mechanisms are going to be varied using lots of different designs.

Just a guess here, but, have you thought of Capri locks and catches?

 

From memory, I think they used the same catches throughout the different Mk's (possibly escort as well), it is only the handles/lock barrels that changed!!!

i removed the nissan locks and tried them, the hole loactions need cutting but other than that its a similar design just have to make a metal piece to connect the two mechanisms.
