retro show 17.58 @ 75

 

inbetween these two times ive :

 

fitted an fr1 cam to a second hand head which i cleaned up and lapped the vlaves in with new followers new valve stem seals camshaft oil seal thing at the front , spray bar , new gaskets etc and also fitted a ral des 4 branch manifold (made by ashley but cheaper then an "ashley" manifold)

and a quickshift and adjustable rear shocks and i was running on slicks

 

 

before the car would hit 125 on the speedo (on a private road of course ) now it struggles to get over 110

 

 

any ideas people ???????

 

also its been running hotter about half way up the temop gauge when hacking back home .... usually barely registers even when hacking it

 

what i thought id do is get a 38dgas (like colin suggested in the first place i shouldve listend really shouldnt i col ) and a vernier pulley and give it to someone who knows what theyre doing to set it up maybe a rr tune up ??

did you set the ignition timing and adjust the carb after all that work?

alsodid you get the head propperly checked?

 

cos fuelling will give you crap performance and cooling problems
