dvla registered keepers report

hi all, can anybody tell me how you go about getting a list of previous keepers of your car from the dvla. i know you got to write a letter and send £5. but what reason do you have to give before they give you the list. i would be very greatfull for any help with this.

I think provided you're the registered keeper of the car you don't have to give reasons. Just write a letter saying you want them. They can easily check that you're the registered keeper

say ur the current owner and would like to trace the previous owners of the car

The exact terminology used is... a fee-paying enquiry (VQ7/1)

ive got the history for my escort ijust told the dvla that i was intrested in the history of the car and who had previously owned it i got it back and not one well known owner in all 14 owners o well

i managed to track down to the 2nd owner just by the old v5 form

.... whereas the Anglia was bought new in 1964 by a guy who traded in his Mk1 cortina at just over £600, paid £5 to have wing mirrors and extra for the heater I have a book he kept with every gallon of petrol, oil and service he put in it until 1998 when he passed away and his son used it before selling it to the guy I bought it off, one of the two had painted a white stripe on it and the last owner put the Rostyles on, the steels will go back on soon once i get them blasted and painted/reshod.
