I thought the 2.8 i capri boxes were the better ones :?:mrgreen:

 

input shaft too long mate :wink:

 

My Dad machined Pip's input shaft for him, he is running a 2.8 box in his mark 2 escort to match his new engine :thumbsup::D

There's a few different models of each gearbox type all with different ratios as well :? Standard Type 9 5 speed ratios are crap though :sad: , short first , long second etc etc and some 4 speeds are the same without the 5th . :thumbsup:

Have another look Ntype 5 speed, same as type e 4 speed, ie ratios are the same except one has 5 gears :thumbsup:
