Yours is power at the flywheel as well m8 Very impressive torque curve as well, nice and flat from 3750 rpm onwards, looks like a strong little engine.

 

 

If you look at any power graph the torque and bhp will always cross over at 5252 rpm.

 

This doesn't happen with power at the wheels. Measuring power at the wheels is an inacurate way of measuring power.

 

When the car is strapped to the rollers, the tighter the car is strapped down the less bhp @ the wheels is recorded, and if strapped down loosely it will record more. Tyre pressures can also alter power @ the wheels.

 

But either way the computer calculates the bhp at the flywheel the same everytime.

 

BHP is just a calculation;

 

(TORQUE X RPM) / 5252 = BHP @ FLYWHEEL

Anyone know the max safe rpm of a 24v? It's just curiosity really as it ran to 7K on the rollers but am I right in thinking it might not like that very much?

Thanks for that mate. I thought the torque curve looked rubbish. Shows what I know! Could explain why my gearbox broked when giving it beans!

1 more Question though. Are the Haynes manual BHP quotes recorded at the flywheel too?

Yes m8, about 84 bhp for a x-flow.

 

Modern engines power figures are quoted in PS which is everyso slightly more than bhp.

Yeah when I was in Germany a few years back they all spoke in PS figures. BTW what have you done to your lump to get that BHP!
