im unsure some one as asked me can you put xr2mk1 engine in escort mk2 as one is rwd the other fwd i cant see y not does any-one no

One of our US members has put fwd xflow in a cortina, he had to drill and tap the engine mount holes in the block. I can't find the thread right now, but I'm sure it's in the projects room

As O-H-C says it can be done but just isn't worth it. There's many little differences it makes it a lot of hassle.

 

The FWD crossflow was only ever put in the Mk1 XR2 so are a bit thin on the ground. They are best kept for the Fezza's

as said there different blocks with different mountings so try get your hands on the right one as it will make things alot easier

if you lokk about you'll pick a rwd 1600x/f up for as cheap as an XR unit as theres loads of em get made redundant in the quest for pinto power
