are you after a deposit now for the campsite of is it to be paid for on the night??

Hi Matey, I will be in touch soon as its is not far away now. There will be a small deposit for the camping. The train if you want to go up gets very busy and I will need to know how many want that as well (its well worth it) but bookings will have to be made. Watch this space.

Dear all,

For some reason the PM's I sent you the other day are sitting in my outbox !

Here is the PM I sent you.

*****Please make contact with me with your name, vehicle details and contact number confirming your attendance for Saturday or Sunday.****** aledhopwood@hotmail.com

Hi Everyone !

Thanks for your interest in the trip to North Wales. It will be great to see all the cars together and put faces to names! Here are the final instructions:

We will meet at the Dolgamedd camp site at 11am on Saturday 29th September.

The post code for it is LL40 2SH so just put that into your route planner. (Link below)

We will pitch up our tents, then go for a drive.

I have been informed that the mountain railway is no longer going to the top of Snowdon due to a new restaurant being built at the top. It now only goes three quarters of the way. For those of you, who still wish to go, then feel free. (Hot tip…..You really do need to pre-book as it gets very busy). For the others, we will be visiting the famous village of Portmeirion which is where the film The Prisoner was shot in 1967. There will be a lovely drive back late afternoon to the campsite for a barbecue.

On Sunday morning, we will be setting off at 9.30 prompt from the campsite. For those meeting us there on the Sunday, please be there in plenty of time. The route is just superb and you will enjoy it I’m sure.

Food: Please bring your own food and / or disposable barbecues. (They really are a great invention!)

Please also bring a couple of bricks to avoid scorching the ground. I was going to ask for a deposit to cover food, but I cannot get a large barbecue there.

The campsite will collect the camping fees upon arrival.

That just means they haven't logged in and read them yet mate. PM's is unfortunately a bit of a hit and miss way of communicating if the recipient doesn't log in very often.

Oh Dear

There's me thinking if I PM'd them, they would get an email to their usual mailbox?

Is there any other way Scott? :sulk:

The weekend has now been and a terrific time had by all. (Photo's will be posted on another thread.)

I just feel it worthy to mention one guy.....

His Gran was taken ill with a stroke as he was on his way down to Wales on Friday.

He turned back, went to see her and she sent him back for his pre-planned weekend in Wales.

He got to the campsite at 3am, pitched his tent ON HIS OWN in the dark. Slept till 6.30am. (The only camper on the Friday).

He was actively involved throughout the weekend, he did ALL the cooking on Sat night without any prompting, he helped enormously and made the weekend a great success.

He is 18 yrs old, didn't complain once, drove his fiesta with gusto  and was just a terrific addition to the tour.

Danny............. (aka THENEWKID), it was a pleasure to meet you. I take my hat off to you for a great attitude and I thank you for your company and all your help.

You are an absolute credit to 'OLDSKOOLFORD'.

Well done matey
