Gonzo Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 dunno mate but just so you know you ain't the only one who's lost!
emu Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 The centre line of the wheel is 0. +38 means that the mounting face is 38mm from the centreline, towards the 'outside' . -10 means the mounting face is 10mm from the centre line, towards the 'inside'. I think thats right , but as always im happy to be corrected if the info that im dishing out is complete codswallop
ratman Posted August 8, 2007 Author Report Posted August 8, 2007 looks like I may be on the right track BUT is 0/centerline = 100mm
emu Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 I dont think so, I think its just that because of the size of your wheels it happens to be 100mm. http://www.procarcare.com/icarumba/resourcecenter/encyclopedia/icar_resourcecenter_encyclopedia_wheels.asp Seems to be a bit of info there
over_head_cam Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 I would have said that if it was an 8" rim then the centre would be 100mm. But having said that, is the true size of the rim measured from inside the bead?
Retromotorsport Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 wheels have equal beads .. so you can measure from inside or outside ..you just need to find the centerline . and then its the distance the the mounting hub face is away from the centerline that is the inst or offset .. oh and the et confuses me .. i thought ET phoned home ages ago
DeanMk1Capri Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Hi Ratman Just checked in December 2006 issue of Classic Ford Mag and it explains all... do you have it? if not I will give you details.
