Capri_Steve Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Here is my modded mk3, Kent FR32 cam kit, vernier, Full system and 4 branch, twin 40dcoe's. She's knocking out 120.4 bhp at 5585rpm and 130.9lbs of torque. Bit dissapointed with those figures but it is a 113 000 miles engine
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 I love a nice pair.................................................... Webers that is! It must make one hell of a noise
Capri_Steve Posted August 25, 2006 Author Report Posted August 25, 2006 Yeah gotta love the noise it makes when I run without those damn K&Ns! I suppose they are there to stop shit going in and spits/flames/anything spitting back out, but they're no fun
Capri_Steve Posted September 29, 2006 Author Report Posted September 29, 2006 Few updates, new rocker cover and some silicone hoses and some new leads, and stripped out the rear
4parajon Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 Mines a similar spec to yours mate (only with twin 45's) and at the same rpm is producing 128bhp....and rising There's a lot of bullshit about pinto horsepower so I would'nt worry about it. I run mine without any filters on and I've never had any probs with stuff being sucked in or anything.
Daveyboy20 Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 lovely mate im jealous of your carbs!
Capri_Steve Posted October 1, 2006 Author Report Posted October 1, 2006 Cheers for the comments, dave, you need to get some mate like I was told, you will not regret it!
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Looking more like it steve, none of that mobile disco crap and stripped out, much better.... i have a couple of very nearly new 3 inch deep filters that will give your trumpets more room to breathe, my filters seem to be more off than on these days so theyre yours for 25 notes of you want em, they are a lot deeper than yours and have about 100 miles on em.
Capri_Steve Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 Really, now that may be an idea. Been meaning to ask you Glyn,i know you said the chokes on mine are 30mm and you said they were a good starting point, but whats next? Bigger ones 34 or 36? and what differences am I gonna see with them? p.s. yeah got bored of my disco equipment, i still have a bit, but only the nescessities! Stripped is not only quicker and makes it sit nicer due to the weight but also looks better
Capri_Steve Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 Another update, new bumper(cheers clive) went on (due to a tree related incident) and number plate relocated to cover damage (cheers badger (R.I.P)) Number plate is probably not to many peoples preference but its better than showing off a crumpled valance. I don't know if its legally positioned though?
caprifan Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 ...a crumpled valance is a Capri norm don't worry
Gareth Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 (cheers badger (R.I.P)) Whats the R.I.P for Hope nothin bad has happened
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 ive seen the valance..... poor badger.
Capri_Steve Posted October 6, 2006 Author Report Posted October 6, 2006 Something bad did happen, the stupid badger running in the road at night cut me up. Therefore he died, but left a hell of a lot of damage to my valance. I didn't stop but that badger must have been ENORMOUS! Poor thing, but poor car more
vibrating_Cake Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Something bad did happen, the stupid badger running in the road at night cut me up. Therefore he died, but left a hell of a lot of damage to my valance. I didn't stop but that badger must have been ENORMOUS! Poor thing, but poor car more they are stupidly heavy and damaging them badgers!!!!! nice capper dude, engine bay looks a lot cleaner with the rocker cover!! and the power+torque is a very nice starting point!! any more pics of the interior stripped??? iirc the interior gets close to 100kg keep us updated!!!! power isnt everything, its the torque that you want for road
vibrating_Cake Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 also what bore exhaust?? im on a 2" exhaust and my powerband trails off a little at the top end.... but for the pinto im sure 2" would be justabout right (twin box)
