A 'not so good week'! - 3 cars & 1 person unserviceable!

You will all prob laugh at this as a run of bad luck - but there are some good things at the end - & I want a Granada 2.8i Ghia X Estate OR a BMW E30 Tourer to replace all the mess!

 

1 - got myself a nice (FREE) doer-upper Capri 2.8i as a replacement for my poxall van. Went to collect it with an A-Frame. Tyre blew out on the Capper whilst on tow & jacknifed the whole rig.

Result: Van had bent rear subframe & wing, Capper has severe stuffed front end.

 

Fixed van, Capper in storage until I break (it) or repair.

 

2 - Van develops a squeek. Cant be alt belt or cambelt etc as just done 5k miles ago, so carried on. BANG - Water pump destroys itself & pulls cambelt off. RAC want joining fee (£125 at the roadside) PLUS £150 towing fee as they cant fix it at the roadside. Rang Capriclive (BIG CHEERS M8 ) who got me home.

Stripped top end - thought we had got away with it, then discovered hairline cracks in the head. Unable to get a head so van parked up. Needed a motor quick to get about so rang a M8 & bought:

 

3 - Capri 2.0S in Metallic Imperial Red (like Capripete's!). Always fancied a 2.0S, but deffo in this colour! Two owners, loads of history inc original bill of sale. Few jobs to do but nothing major. Very happy!

Went to see a M8 to get some bits for the V8 (remember that? I barely can with all this hassle!) - & someone stuffs the Capper up the a*se while I'm waiting to turn right. He admits liability instantly.

 

Summary:

Capri 2.8i - stuffed front end, possible breaker.

Poxall Astravan - junked engine, recon engine fitted but not run in yet (bit smokey still).

Capri 2.0S - Stuffed rear end (not major writeoff - but subject to insurance claim)

Me - signed off with no pay for at least 3 weeks with whiplash & back injuries (subject to insurance claim). Cant drive very far as my back pulls.

WANTED: BMW E30 Touring (BMW Estate 1989-1993). Prefer Metallic Green or Metallic Blue AUTO with Towbar.

 

GOOD BIT: My new 'Better Half' (Julie) thinks I'm mad (surprise ) but has kicked my a*se & told me to get the V8 sorted for the Drag Racing 'coz she wants a go in the OSFDC!

- Typical Scouse (She's from that there Liverpool ) - Yes you cant walk etc, but get the V8 on the track!
