Mr Sam Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 polycarbonate window kits seem to cost £££'s for what is essentially a peice of transparent plastic cut to shape i know emu mentioned about popping down to B&Q to buy a sheet of it but is it that easy do they stock suitable stuff jigsaw time me thinks
Guest MK1gaz Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 You can do it yourself but get the stuff that's U.V. protected or else it goes yellow and looks shite
Mr Sam Posted August 17, 2007 Author Report Posted August 17, 2007 sorry yeah should of been more detailed is there a name for the UV stuff i know an old jeep cherokee we had one of the 1/4 lites had been replaced with some dodgy stuff in the end couldnt see anything out it at all so yellow
Fiesta Steve Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 It very expensive from B&Q and by the time you've priced it up you may as well by a proper kit.
emu Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 It very expensive from B&Q and by the time you've priced it up you may as well by a proper kit. I think you might be right Steve . Dont worry though Sam, Ive found a cheap, lightweight alternative for you

RETRO_AL Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 dont use it as drop glass,i took it out of my mk2 cos the noise drove me round the bend.rattles,bangs.its shit keep to the glass in the droppers imo if its a road car m8 of got it and its fine
andypipe Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Dont use the stuff from B&Q and Wickes etc. The stuff they use shatterers like glass. Plastics 4 performance do a special kit, that they have developed that dosent shatter
Mr Sam Posted August 18, 2007 Author Report Posted August 18, 2007 ....so just shelling out the £100 odd on the propper kit is probably the best option
