Not really posted on this bit before, but I thought I would see what the general thought is......

Been looking for a MK 1 Capri, something original and has not been customised in the 70's or is about to become baked bean cans.

Does this sound difficult? I have looked at loads of these and this was the one.

I travelled 250 miles to look at this on flea bay and bid just under £2k, my wife was phoning the doctor to get me sectioned.:shock::roll::shock:

Can you imagine my utter joy to find out I lost it to a higher bid :evil::evil:

While I understand the rules of Ebay, highest bid wins and all that....

But my question is, is the world going completely mental, is Ebay hiking the price of cars through the roof, or should I just give up? :(:(:(

if you're looking for a mk1, i think someone's selling a shell in the cars for sale section.

but i agree with you on ebay, the joy and bane of our lives

:ykt: true very true Doc . A good place to look for capris is in the classic car newspapers and proper classic car mags like practical classics etc and this will save bidding on ebay and getting carried away  .

I know you are right.

So I tried this months mags and was going to look at a car today, except someone went and looked at it sunday and bought it on the spot!!!:evil::evil:

I guess I am on a bad run, but there is some proper shite out there at the moment and you sometimes need more than a 1/2 inch photo before setting off on a 250 mile trip?

How I laugh when I log onto this and see some members buying almost a car a week :P:P:P:lol::lol::beer:

Dont give up......

My dad was in the same a few years ago. Looked for months for the right car, then we literally stumbled across his 'perfect' car 1 day on Ebay. The right colour, right spec, resonable price and was local.... It was meant to be i say. :D

Hold out, you will find one, but dont get sucked into paying 'silly' money for one, as many have said on here, the prices will drop soon and in a few months there will be more for sale as people have had their 'summer' use.

Good luck with the hunt.
