shortie Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Can anyone help shed some light on this? Whilst under the bonnet of my daily driver (XR4x4) i noticed a plate on the block just behind the water pump housing, its From Ivor Searle, a local to me engineering firm that also does engine builds etc, the ref is - RS59494 and the type is- 3047. Does this mean anything to anyone? The engine is heavily rumoured to be from an ex norfolk constabulary unmarked car, just wondered if this means its been tuned slightly? The car is quicker than a mates XR4x4 so wondered if its not just ECU thats been played with. Thanks in advance for any info.
antz Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 putting whaty you said together id say its been tuned by the guy you mentioned
Admin Vista Posted September 2, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 2, 2007 Ring Ivor Searle, the number will be their reference number and I suspect they'll have records of it
shortie Posted September 2, 2007 Author Report Posted September 2, 2007 may have to phone them as they are only 15 mins down the road and see if they would keep any records etc.
Copey Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 if they are so close take it down n have a chat
antz Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 if they are so close take it down n have a chat he might remember it more if you took the whole car down! especially if its 15miuns away you can have a ncie drive home
shortie Posted September 2, 2007 Author Report Posted September 2, 2007 did think about that but i'm away in the truck all week, although i'm off tail end of this week, have to sweet talk the missus as i've promised her my undivided attention. lol
