texr2000 Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 I have seen a few N/A Cossy's in OSF’s and on the rocker cover they don’t have 'turbo' were some made with out it or do people have them filled in or something? If someone could shed some light on it for me that would be good
mk1mexico Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 They have it machined off i think mate
texr2000 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Report Posted September 6, 2007 As 'turbo' is like indented if you machined it off wouldn’t that leave it a different height to DOHC 16V if you know what I mean. Cos that’s what I thought like when you machine ‘Burton’ off a x/flow rocker cover leaving it flat.
fezza Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Maybe they had it alloy welded then machined back?

Yes the ones i have seen have been completely machined off leaving a flat surface lower than the other lettering
Guest MK1gaz Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Yep , machine off the whole rocker cover and lose the dreaded turbo logo , unless you've got a turbo of course
deltamal Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I had the TURBO machined off, and had a lasered plate made up with the engine builders logo on it, J.R.E. in my case, the plate was bolted on with M3 screws from underneath, put sealent on the screw heads, the screw ends formed the full stops, handy if you have a engineer mate with access to a milling machine! a bit complicated but effective

texr2000 Posted September 7, 2007 Author Report Posted September 7, 2007 Thanks for the info guys! I will have a better look at the 'Cam covers' in future Just something I have been wondering about for a while.
