Fiesta Steve Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Blanked on Saturday too, only a 3 hour session though and the Saturday before that I say blanked, I caught tench and bream but they aren't my intended quarry, they just make your landing net smell. I'm baiting with 24mm boilies and still catching these nuisance fish, lol.
Supercharged Nat Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 dont know much about fishing but isnt it getting abit cold to catch? thought fish only eat when the temp was above 10 degress or so?- water gota be colder than that these days?

Yes feeding does slow at temps below 10c. Just measured the temp in my garden pond and its still 16c so some way to go yet before its too cold. This time of year the fish are piling on the pounds stocking up thier fat reserves ready for the winter months when it is to cold to feed, so don't hang up your Carp rods yet. The British record Carp has been caught in November (Terry Hearn) and in February (Jon Pac) with ice in the margins !!
X-pack-Glyn Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 yeah, but i keep blankin!! it gets a bit drastic holding your rod for 8 hours or more without being able to do anything with it
Copey Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 it gets a bit drastic holding your rod for 8 hours or more without being able to do anything with it had some sort of operation have we?? (sorry couldnt resist the dirty joke)

mitomad Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 ive done 5 days carp session all i got was a foul hooked bream but it was nice and peacefull no doris moaning at me Sometimes there the best ones, just to turn the phone off and chill out for a few days without all the hassle of day to day life, even better if you get a bend in the rod though
Tom Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 i've got a bend in mine, always to the left
