i have a F reg 2 door mk 1 escort...first registered feb 1968..unmodified..12 months mot..roughly 66500 displayed miles..good overall condition... as its an very early one is it more or less desireable than a later one

Hi m8, its probably worth more than a later model in standard form, but the majority of people who want an escort mk1 or 2 want to modify it so the age difference doesn`t matter.

Depending on the condition of the car, would determine the price.

For example, yes it would be worth £3000 or a bit more if its mint, but the condition will reflect the overall price at the end of the day, of cource..!!

 

There are a lot of people that think cos they have seen a car make thousands on ebay that there car is worth the same, hopefully yours is in the better condition catergrie.!!

any thing pre 73 is worth more than post 73

 

i would say early shells are worth more,even more so if its a really early shell,with the stickin out fuel capmake a lovely twin cam rep

thats exactly the reason prices are going through the roof . some one sees a mint car selling for loads , then someone else sees this and thinks his not so mint is worth the same .

 

good if your a seller , not so if your buying .

thanks for tha advice i was thinking it would be of more interest to someone who wanted to keep it standard because of the age...its not mint but it doesnt look too bad....going on e bay tonight...
