X-pack-Glyn Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 magnesium minilights, the real ones, look shite though as the ally allways pits and corrodes.
Danmex Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 comp ml are proper 1 of the lightest about Are they the ones with the flat five spokes?

Retromotorsport Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 The lightest wheels will always be split rims.. and wheel that are used for rallying will be heavy as its quite often the case that the car arrives in Parc- Ferme without a tyre on a rim. Alway makes me giggle when some wheel manufacturers say " light alloy wheels"... "replace your standard steel wheels with lighter aftermarket alloys" Steel wheels are often lighter than the Road Bling Bling wheels
V8ian Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 What are the lightest wheels, depends on what you want them for, Racing or street,Any magnesium wheel is going to be light, but they are prone to corrosion. Minilite still make magnesium wheels to order, and a good price as well, as retro says the lightst rim you are lightly to find is going to be a split rim, I have a set of Ronal Racing 16x8 splits up in my loft, similar in design to Ronal R10s but rather than Turbo is says "Racing" Rolled Alloy inners and outers and Magnesium centers, they weigh very little compared to my 8x15 Mls. RETRO_AL Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 tell you what tho comps are a lot lighter than revos
RUSTYPUP Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I've got 4 spoke american racing magnesium wheels on my Cortina. They seem pretty light. They don't polish up like aluminum alloys but who cares. Get some mag wheels and be a bit different
