Thats a lot of money to spend on something, just "to give it a go"......having said that I dont know what your intention with it is.

The best advice I can give you is to maybe take a short course up. I know near me in Stockport do them for about 6 weeks, you get the basics under your belt and then your off to practice on your own.....and thats what it takes to be a good tig welder (or any sort of welding)......practice.

I know fellas' who have been tig welding for over 20 years and there still shite, think some people are capable and some are'nt, you need to be a bit dextorous(!!!spelling  ) and patient with tig.

Whereabouts are you???

I'm in Manchester, you are more than welcome to come in and I'll go through it with you and see what you think before you go shelling out all that money.

Think our sets, which are Millar were about £2k each

**edit** seen your in Basingstoke :dope:
