Rude Dog Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 [do you really think this is about getting paid more? money has nothing to do with it, its the strings attatched to this pay deal that has caused so much outrage I know that and do sympathise up to a point, even though I don't agree with it. I went through it years ago when I worked for British Rail and went through privatisation, etc. Unfortunately I think a work to rule would have garnered more public support. The biggest problem with striking these days is you have a unlistening, uncaring mangement on one side who believe they wield the ultimate power and on the other side a union run by militant, living in the past, unreasonable men who also believe they weild the ultimate power. Its a no win situation. You wont win, end of! You're just prolonging the inevitable but good luck, theres absolutely nothing wrong with standing up for something you believe in.
Rick Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 i do agree with that. but il be happier in the knowledge that we stood our ground rather than bent over and took it, like the rest of the country do. people with the fighting spirit are a dying breed which is why this country is so disgraceful
antz Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 i understand why royal mail want to strike and i dmire them for having the balls to do it! i must say though is it a pain in the arse cos im waiting for numerous parcels to ceom through the post and then to find out we get no post for a week and then probably none next week....i might as well get in my car, go down to whereever in the country they came from and pick them up myselves!.....and when it is eventually delivered i know our post lady will leave it in full view of the street to nick, possibly broken, damaged or even opened csometimes!

Burns Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 i'm all behind the posties on this one, the management are trying to screw them and they're standing up for themselves. i don't mind waiting a few days longer for my letters as long as we don't loose a british institution
