[do you really think this is about getting paid more? money has nothing to do with it, its the strings attatched to this pay deal that has caused so much outrage

I know that and do sympathise up to a point, even though I don't agree with it. I went through it years ago when I worked for British Rail and went through privatisation, etc.

Unfortunately I think a work to rule would have garnered more public support.

The biggest problem with striking these days is you have a unlistening, uncaring mangement on one side who believe they wield the ultimate power and on the other side a union run by militant, living in the past, unreasonable men who also believe they weild the ultimate power. Its a no win situation.

You wont win, end of! You're just prolonging the inevitable but good luck, theres absolutely nothing wrong with standing up for something you believe in.

i do agree with that.

but il be happier in the knowledge that we stood our ground rather than bent over and took it, like the rest of the country do.

people with the fighting spirit are a dying breed which is why this country is so disgraceful

i'm all behind the posties on this one, the management are trying to screw them and they're standing up for themselves. i don't mind waiting a few days longer for my letters as long as we don't loose a british institution
