pauln Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Are you using the standard dizzy with mods. Even changing a filter or using a performance exhaust changes the engines ignition advance requirements. I have'nt got x-flow info but BLs A series for example needs less total advance but slightly more vacuum advance with a high flow exhaust. If your dizzy is a high miler you may just need a new one.
johnny_h Posted October 10, 2007 Author Report Posted October 10, 2007 They did say the dizzy was a performance one which could be causing problems .
Supercharged Nat Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 ok heres what to do: simply loosent the dizzy clamp off and turn it the teeniest bit to retard the ignition timing. (on a pinto you need to turn the dizzy clockwise) but when i say a little i really mean a little because you only want to set it back one or two degrees!
