Guest MK1gaz Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 A.T.B.'s always work but transfer power from one wheel to the other to find the most traction instead of just locking solid and smokin the tyres .
boXXer Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 right, so who can get me the best deal on a tran-x plate diff then?
aden Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 i got atb in mine, only use it on the road, well impressed with it, drives like standard when poodleing about, loads of grip when you want it! had a tear up at the traffic lights couple of weeks ago with a chaved up omega, he was giving it large so i nailed it off the line, smoked both rear wheels, stepped sideways and then blew him away, cant ask more than that can ya?
Toby Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 right, so who can get me the best deal on a tran-x plate diff then? Tran-X? I heard atb's unlock if a wheel lifts which kind of spoils the point doesn't it? When I asked Quaiffe they said if your car lifts wheels it's not set up right!! Probably ok for dragging though. Don't know about shafts.
Retromotorsport Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Gaz, when you say Jayson blew his diff to bits ..what bits , because if it was the CWP then thats not the diff ..thats the crap English parts Toby, the only time you should be unloading a wheel on the rear is on the entry to a corner, under braking, so your not on the throttle. And then the front inside wheel will lift on the exit, thats because of the crap Roll Centers on old fords (and fiestas, clios etc ) Personally, if 90% of your milage is driving around and motorways.. ATB all day long .. If 90% is hooning around drifting, donuting, rolling burn outs .. etc .. weld the fooker up !!!!
Guest MK1gaz Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Jayson blew the whole lot too bits i think but he's really pushing his motor off the startline unlike most people
