X FLOW EDDY Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 How many of you lot have come so close to buying the dream old skool ford only to have the rug pulled from under you at the last minuite ? A few years back i was told about a 1600 2 door auto mk2 escort that had been given back to the local ford garrage after the old boy who owned it passed away. Had arranged a price with them and everything and a day before i went to pick it up it got stolen by joyriders who crashed it into a very large tree completley writeing it off. Pissed off doese'nt even start to cover it. Over to you lot.

Pissed off doese'nt even start to cover it. Over to you lot. Exactly the same thing happened to my mate. Me and him went to look at a Mk1 Mini, many years ago. It was in OK condition, but the welding could have been better. He struck a deal and arranged to pick it up the next day. That night it was nicked and driven into a tree. My mate reckoned it was fate because he was beginning to have second thoughts because of the welding.

sab6024 Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 I have to admit I did it to one of my brother's mates once. I had a little blue Mk1 Escort which I rolled one night My boyfriend came with me to look at another one which just happened to be for sale round the corner. The guy told me he had this lad coming to collect it. I said 'oh ok, I've got the blue Escort that keeps flashing to you' he then said 'well how quick can you get the money?, 'about 10 minutes' I said. Off we went to get the money then came back to pick the car up. On the way out of Newquay the lad coming to buy it saw us. The next week I rock up at College dropping my brother off and this lad went ape at me. Oh well unlucky...... I did feel a bit bad
