X-pack-Glyn Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 A pop-up is a type of boilie that floats Jo. this time of year its getting colder and a few that use this forum will be switching baits right now so i just thought id ask what they was using.

X-pack-Glyn Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 Ive heard about shrimp and prawn being good this time of year, the problem is i go home smelling like a sardines jock strap.
w p e Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 bright ones as the water gets murky with leaf mulch this time of year. banana or strawbury type flavours
Tom Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 pineapple or squid, yellow and pink. I can't be arsed to chase carp when ts cold - now's the tme to go piking
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 cheers. used to do loads of piking in my younger days but a 20lb pike dont fight anywhere near as good as a 20lb carp. my pond has no pike anyways, and pike still scare me when theyre on the bank.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 12, 2007 Admin Report Posted October 12, 2007 A pop-up is a type of boilie that floats Jo. Okay Glyn - thought you were having a funny 5 althought WTF is a boilie
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 Well, just got back from 30 hours fishing...and i cought (i only know the latin name) Didlus Squatus... Things are tickin me off now, i even had the lake to meself, 4 rods out, and sod all AGAIN.... the icing on the cake though is this, first time i took me ray bans, its amazing how deep into the water you can see with em, i could see fish patroling including a huge 25+ that came right close in and hoovered up some boilies i threw in the margins...where was my hook baits, no where near it would have been an awesome fish to catch. som e guy fished thurs/fri and spodded 20 kilos out i heard which is why i think the weekend fishing aint so great missus tore a chunk ou of me over the phone for leaving fri without seeing the kids (justified) mate was gona come with me but due to M25 turning into a car park genuinly couldnt make it, now i dont mind the lake to meself but its a bit of a scary place on your own at night so didnt sleep a wink, rats in the bivvy at 4am too. My arm is swolen from insect bites and i scalded my hand making a cup of tea and not watching what i was doing, after all that then kicked my tea over.. this time im glad to be back!
Tom Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 think it's time for a different tactic or a different lake mate. Have you tried altering your rigs, colouring them in, different length hairs etc some times in can make all the difference making at bit more inconspicuous
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 Gona try cat food next week....apparently its pretty good when they get fed up with boilies.
flyingbanana Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 i gave up fishing years ago....sooooooo boring....still have rods etc...dont know why
