samurai Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Anyone know were i can get race battery cable from? The net seems to be useless on this one to! All i found was: http://www.polevolt.co.uk/Polevolt%20Ca ... e%203C.pdf Whats the standard cable sizes to? What size should i be looking for as im puting the SBS30 battery in the boot and how long? 8ft for the red one? and 1ft for the black? Thanks
KJ 1320 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 if your anywhere near Tolworth go to Tolworth Welding Supplies, he does the earth lead for welders on a reel so you can have any length you want tell him you want it for your car and he'll give you the right cable
samurai Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 I live 20 min by bus away.i wanna get all the battery cables in one go with all the right colours, connections, boots etc.
KJ 1320 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 i think he does ring terminals for the cable but thats all m8
samurai Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 Does anyone know where this one goes? If i remember right it goes from the stater motor to......engine? and small one to body? its the cable that came with the engine,i think ill reuse this as its in good nick
KJ 1320 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Does anyone know where this one goes? it's the original earth cable m8 no good if your putting the battery in the boot!!
samurai Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 Im guessing all this wireing stuff Theres the battery red cable which goes to the starter motor? 8ft? Theres the battery black cable which goes to the boot floor? 1ft? Theres the gearbox x-member mount to body? 1ft? Im guessing theres another black cable from the stater motor to...? What about earthing the engine and starter motor? or is there no need? Any others?
KJ 1320 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 you need an earth cable from engine to chassis m8 normally it's done by using one of the bolts that hold the starter motor on and then onto a good chassis point!
deluxe Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 on the x-flow the earth normally goes from the water pump to the negative battery terminal
samurai Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 So starter motor holding bolt to body=chassis (dont wanna drill any holes in to the chassis) Oh yeah i forgot i gotta put this FIA battery cut off switch in yet! So the red 8ft one would be in 2 bits which connects to the + side of the master switch so thats ok. The - side of the switch has to go to the right side pin 1 and also main electrical feed circuit which means? Sorry for being a pain Thanks
