kris Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Hey all, There is the original 3 rail 2000E gearbox, and you can use the close ratio clusters (2.9 1st) from these in an Anglia 1200 casing..... I can get a single rail 2000E/Type3 box with the same close ratios (again 2.9 first) from the later MK2 cortina, Capri Mk1 1600.... I don't suppose the gear clusters are the same and could be used in the 1200 Anglia casing. I am going to guess not as the cluster probably changed to suit the new selectors, but I am hopeful I am wrong. If you can, what is involved??? Cheers '
Toby Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 I've wondered this one myself: the ratio's are identical as you say and the centre casing looks very similar. This isn't my shocked face it's my interested face!
escort21 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I'm sure you can...didn't classic ford do it a while back?
Smudger105e Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 or Wilko the Van Man would be able to tell you, he does silly things like putting 2000e internals in 1200 Anglia boxes...
