Just how high is it safe to rev a 1600 zetec to?

Well im using a 1.6 zetec escort at the moment to get to work, it revs further than i dare take it, but its got no rev counter

I got a fiesta 1.6 zetec s and the limiter kicks in @ 7000 rpm

Seen 7000 on my 1800 (limiter should cut in at 7100) on standard ecu but thats as high as the revcounter goes.
